News November 09

Hi friends,
We are going well here in Chiang Rai. We are enjoying seeing how God is building our church. Our most recent project is looking after at-risk youth, and are now supporting 3 young people to make sure they are safe and fed, and making them into disciples of God. English class is a great outreach to the children and youth in the area, and we have been blessed to have an Australian girl here helping us with this. As well as this we have had many weddings and festivals that have had us out and about.
It is now coming into winter and we can again see the need in villages for warm blankets. Many of these people do not earn an income and are without protection from the cold. Especially the older people can get very sick. Our target is to source 200 blankets to bless these people. So far we have given out 103 blankets- very good. A quality, warm blanket here costs about 200 Baht (about $A7).
Coming up this month… On November 24-26 we are running a leadership seminar for pastors in villages on the Burmese border. There will be about 60 people from Thailand and Burma. We are excited about what God wants to do in these people’s lives to release them more into His leading, power and service. Please pray for this one, and for the budget for enough materials.
Please consider how you are able to contribute to blankets or our seminar vision. For details on how to give you can go to our website at www.heartlandthailand.blogspot.com. God bless you,
Pastor Eliah and Jit
